<p>I am starting this petition, because, I would like for <strong>OUR <em>community</em></strong> to come together, to help all forms of addicts. I was recently incarcerated in the Vermilion County Jail, Danville, Il. I was begging for help and there was none to give. I was an Opiate Addict and was going through such depression and suicidal feelings. I asked about rehab, was court ordered Drug Evaluation and Classes. I was even denied the right to CALL THE 24 HOUR SUICIDE HOTLINE. I WAS DENIED CROSSPOINT TO COME TALK TO ME. Was denied my <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em><strong>Rights</strong></em></span>. I would say 90 percent of the individuals that were incarcerated with me, were there for some form of drug involvement. And most were repeat offenders. I am trying to get something in place in our community to prevent addicts going right back out and using. It <em><strong>could be DEATH or Coma next time around. It COULD BE YOUR CHILD, SON, DAUGHTER, MOTHER, FATHER, FRIEND, FAMILY MEMBER, or even someone whom you do not know. </strong></em>So many teens are involved with the use of drugs or alcohol and is on the rise. You, I am certain have a family member or friend that may need help, but feels alone or in denial they have a problem. I have seen friends die of overdoses, because, they didn't have the tools to quit on their own. We need some kinds of Rehabilitation Program for Vermilion County to Intervene in this epidemic. <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em><strong>Your LIVES matter, your VOICE matters, YOU matter.</strong></em></span> Please help me in my efforts to start making a difference in OUR community!
