<p>Please help save this historical structure located in Hugoton, Kansas and owned by Dana Swan. This church was built in 1945 for the airman at the WWII air base in Liberal, Kansas. In 1947, the Catholic Church purchased it and moved it to Hugoton. This building was located across the highway from the Jr High School. In the 80's, Dana Swan purchased the building and had it moved to its present location. While her children were in high school, the building served as a teen center where it hosted dances, video games, pool tables and served snacks and drinks. Dana has invested over 50,000 in this building and other measures are being taken to save this building. The City Council is trying to demolish the building. The council has been provided with information that is not factual and does not represent the structure of the building. This building has sat vacant for some time, but is structurally sound and up to codes with wiring for electrical. Dana has been in the process of fixing up the structure by painting the outside and making improvements on the inside. It should be her choice for what happens to this structure. Her goal has been to sell it so she can recoup some of her investments. This building has many beautiful features inside: stain glass windows, beautiful wood panels, high wooden ceiling beams, ceiling fans and a gazebo that was built in the building and can't be removed!!
