Switch to summer football for schoolboys

<p>Despite the recommendations by the FAI's technical director Ruud Dokter calling to change the footballing calendar for kids from winter to summer the SFAI (Schoolboys Football Association of Ireland)&nbsp;refuse to&nbsp;act .</p><p>Waterlogged pitches disrupt games regularly . Kids go for weeks in winter without games and when they are on , the surfaces are poor. How can they develop in these conditions ?</p><p>Pitch hire is costing clubs thousands each year. Kids are struggling for somewhere to train in most cases.&nbsp;</p><p>Its time to&nbsp;move to summer football - there can be no more excuses .&nbsp;</p><p>Summer football = More games , better playing surfaces , more spectators , pitches protected from winter weather ,&nbsp;reduced costs for clubs for lighting / training facilities.&nbsp;</p><p>Summer football = Better , happier players.</p><p>Its time.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
