<p>By starting this petition I fully intend to get the governments attention in regards to how many people are convicted of a crime and how their mistake from the past hinders them on getting a job. Yes we did the crime and yes we did the time, yet we are still being penalized for it each time we go apply for a job. If you are a person that did something in your past and have changed for the better sign this petition.</p><p>If you are a person that is tired of getting told you would be perfect for the job only to later find out that they don't hire you because of your past mistakes sign this petition. Government says that it is in humane that we can't vote, but isn't that just for their benefit? What about us? What about all of the Americans that now lead a better life, have gone to college, who have stayed off drugs and rejoined society? We deserve to be heard and we deserve to be able to be hired for our skills and the person they see before being asked that one sentence that will keep us from obtaining a job.
