I for one, am proud to call Dom my friend. Those students who know Dom know him to be a good person, and someone who we feel does not deserve the punishment he's received. Although we know that this has no effect on the school's decision, we would respectfully like to ask the administration to reconsider they're decision in light of the fact that Dom is an otherwise outstanding person, and that he does not have a history of insubordinate behavior.

For those who do not know, Dom had a lighter in his car and was suspended by the school for possessing a flame-producing devise. No drugs or other materials were in the car. Even though it is against the school code, we would like to make the case that because lighters are such a common devise, such a punishment is not deserved. Again, we would sincerely appreciate it if the school could reconsider. The intent is not to rebel or to cause trouble, but many students are saddened at what they feel is too much of a punishment to someone who is not violent or disrespectful. Many of us have had our day brightened up by Dom's cheerful smile or jokes, and it saddens us to know that our friend is receiving such a punishment for a relatively minor offense.

Thank you very much for your time, and we would appreciate if you could reconsider your decision.
