<p>Malik wilson was a High School athelte, with a 3.8 GPA. He was on his way home from a party with friends on the night of October 29, 2016. Police officer Philips intially was doing a routine stop for a tail light that was out. When Philips approached the car he quick made a call for back up. Maybe because there was 4 African American Males in the car, so he made the call for backup and told the boys he smelled marijuana and asked them to step out the car.. The boys knowing there right argued a bit, while officer Philips searched them. Officers James (Black Male) arrives on the scene as he is walking up Wilson proceeds toward him and a round of bullets rang off. While Philips yells he has a weapon, he is showing signs of agression as if he was going to attack officer james. James Said in an interview after the incident that he "did not see aggression in the childs eyes, only fear and disappointment". "So far in 2016, there have been 708 documented deaths in police shootings, 173 of which have resulted the deaths of African-Americans"(Williams, Janice. "Police Shooting Statistics 2016: Are More Black People Killed By Officers Than Other Races?" <em>International Buisness Times. </em>Ibtimes.com) It is safe to say that we need to take a stand against people who decide to racially profile another person, because what was his evidence or motive for shooting. Especially when your partner is saying you may have been wrong this time. I would like to ask you to sign this petetion to get Officer Philips removed from the police force because he committed murder. </p>
