With the significant number of vagrants that have been displaced due to the closing of the homeless shelter on the neighboring block, the high crime rate in the area is a major concern.

SOLUTION

The residents acknowledge that currently, emergency vehicles could not maneuver through the street with cars parked on both sides of Maiden Lane.

A revision of the impending regulation change is requested as indicated below.

Current Impending Regulation: No Parking on Either Side of Maiden Lane

Revision Proposed: Parking Restricted to Only One Side of Maiden Lane

This would provide parking that is vital to the residents AND allow safe passage of emergency vehicles.
