David Bowie's family moved to Bromley when he was six years old. He went to primary and secondary school in Bromley , lived at three addresses in Bromley (& one in Beckenham!) and only left when the bright lights called.

For every person who has ever felt like an outsider, David Bowie spoke our language. Groundbreaking style and music which became gradually more acceptable to the mainstream, he exemplifies both British eccentricity and creativity. Bromley should be proud he grew up here.

The new development at Bromley South, St marks square, http://www.uandiplc.com/portfolio/st-marks-square-bromley is currently under development and due to open later in 2016. We would like Bromley council to rename the development 'Stardust Square' to commemorate the life and contribution of David Bowie.

In addition, we would like the Local Authority to consider funding one of the retail units as a drop-in space for young people in Bromley to encourage their musical development. This would take the form of a cafe/music venue which would encourage local artists to meet and perform.
