<p>The beautiful villages of Shepherdswell and Coldred have been blighted by HGVs trying to use the villages as a cut through between the A2 and A256 in recent times. This is further compounded when Operation Stack is implemented due to issues at the Port of Dover/Calais and at the Eurotunnel terminals. Another common theme is Sat Nav devices directing these wholly inappropriate vehicles down here. </p><p>The roads aren't designed for such vehicles and the knock on effect they cause affects many, many people. Villagers who try and interject with drivers are met with aggressive responses or sheer bloody mindedness and refusing to move their lorry. </p><p>This is a regular occurrence, some days it occurs four or five times.</p><p>Villagers have had enough, we the undersigned request that the Shepherdswell with Coldred Parish Council now take immediate action and make representations to KCC on our behalf by means of installing width restrictors at prominent and pertinent locations into the villages along with signage. This includes providing the financial support in order to match fund KCCs investment which is a requirement of theirs.</p>
