Legislation within the U.S.A. dictates that the President must have been born within the U.S.A.; and this is ideal because it ensures that the President has established American values to ensure that all decisions made by him/her are generally for the benefit of the American people and the U.S.A. itself.

It also helps to prevent anyone with non-American views and/or values from attaining this high level and responsible position.

It follows that, to preserve Australian values, Australian legislation should be amended to restrict appointment to the position of Prime Minister of Australia to someone who has been born within Australia. For surely, decisions about: -

(1) defence;

(2) trade;

(3) economics;

(4) finance;

(5) immigration; and

(6) refugees;

(7) etc, etc, etc;

within Australia need to be made by someone who has a committed understanding of the needs and goals of the Australian people and of Australia itself.

In my mind similar action should be taken to ensure that the Premiers of the various Australian States and Territories are also required to be born within Australia.
