<p>There have been many instances where strict underage drinking laws have caused teens to be injured by police officers or even killed by alcohol poisoning. Recently, there was an instance where two Virginia Alcoholic beverage Control agents approached an underage student and violently arrested him for what they believe was a fake id. However, in reality, he had a real id which gave the police no right to arrest him. Another incident happened in Indiana, where a group of teens where drinking underage when one teen starts to become very sick. The teens notice this and call the police for help, however, they give limited information and don't cooperate. The teens are scared to be charged with the crime of underage drinking so they decide to not cooperate which leads to the sick child having alcohol poisoning and dying. The laws should be centered around being safe rather than sorry in all cases of potential alcohol poisoning. In addition, alcohol laws shouldn't get teens arrested for possession or consumption of alcohol. There is a lot of change that needs to happen with underage alcohol laws and it is necessary nationwide.</p><p>Thank you for the support.</p><p>Jared Ungar</p>
