Disney claims to be "The Happiest Place on Earth", but is it really? For factory workers in foreign countries, the word "Disney" means something quite different to them. To them, it is their only way of survival. That may not sound to bad, but that's just it, they aren't living, they're simply surviving if even that. In foreign countries such as Haiti, Bangladesh, and China, Disney sends their merchandise to be made by these workers in places that are called sweatshops. These sweatshops give unfair wages and hours, hardly bearable conditions, and brutal treatment to their hard working employees. Employees are paid from 11-41 cents per hour and work 7 days a week at an average of 14 hours per day. They are also forced to work nearly 35-42 hours of overtime every week in which they are usually never even paid for. They suffer beatings, toxic air, humidity, and torture every single day they go to work. There have even been reports in China that say the faulty machinery in the sweatshops are never fixed and anyone injured by the machinery will we replaced before the machinery is. No one deserves to live in these conditions. By signing this petition you agree to stop the torture in these foreign countries. You will be agreeing for the need to pressure Disney on giving these workers a living salary and fair working conditions. This isn't wishing for Disney to just pull a "cut and run" leaving the workers with no income at all, this is simply wishing for fair treatment for the workers. Please show your support for these workers. Sign the petition and tell Disney to make themselves "The Happiest Place on Earth" once again.
