<p>Due to the issue that JOHN WAYNE is not only an American Icon but also a great American Actor and his views on politics and the American way of life are still widely popular among millions of people . We respectfully request that the President , Congress and Law makers of the United States of America dedicate May 26 as the official JOHN WAYNE DAY celebrating not only his life and accomplishments but the fact that he embodies the persona of the views of the American way of life. His many accomplishments during his lifetime and the fact that he was able to overcome many obstacles including but not limited to health and financial issues has many American and other people in the world relating to him on a personal level. Even after his untimely death he is still extremely popular not only in his movies and songs that have been written about him but also because his popularity has spanned generations and he can be related to on many levels . We the people who sign this petition feel very strongly about MR. WAYNE and hope that people will stand up and take notice of how great this man is and will dedicate May 26 as a national day of celebration of his life .
