Preserve and Protect Runyon Canyon

<p>I support the preservation and protection of Runyon Canyon Park as an urban wilderness area. &nbsp;I ask that the City of Los Angeles terminate the Memorandum of Understanding with Friends of Runyon Canyon Foundation, Inc. as this group seeks enhancements that would destroy the Park.</p><p>Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Department has a Memorandum of Understanding in place with Friends of Runyon Canyon Foundation, Inc. &nbsp;This Memorandum gives this self-appointed group that misleadingly purports to represent the community a role and responsibility in 'enhancements' of Runyon Canyon. &nbsp;A branded basketball court set in the middle of this precious wild area was one of the enhancements the Foundation developed, and construction was narrowly averted at the last minute when the community learned of it. &nbsp;The Foundation intentionally and purposely attempted to avoid the Public Notice process. &nbsp;As long as the Memorandum is in place with this deceptive and secretive group, Runyon Canyon Park is at risk.</p><p>I urge the Board of Commissioners of Los Angeles Recreation and Parks and the Office of Los Angeles City Attorney Michael Feuer to terminate this Memorandum of Understanding with Friends of Runyon Canyon Foundation, Inc. at once.</p>
