<p>Mr. Parker:</p><p>We, the residents of Viridian, are increasingly concerned with the amount of criminal activity in our neighborhood. We are therefore petitioning for police patrol and the installation of an Arlington Police Department substation in or near Viridian. Viridian residents pay one of the highest tax rates in the City of Arlington, yet we do not reap the same benefits. Our neighborhood has been all but forgotten. Presently, the Arlington Police Department does not patrol our neighborhood at all despite the uptick in crime. When residents call 911 to report a crime, extremely slow response times have been documented. </p><p>To curb the amount of crime in our neighborhood, the residents of Viridian demand that the Arlington Police Department immediately begin patrolling our neighborhood. We also request that the Arlington City Council consider the installation of a police substation in or near Viridian. A substation in or near Viridian would deter crime and make our residents feel safe again. Furthermore, there are currently no substations in North Arlington. The presence of a substation will not only deter crime and make our residents feel safe again, but also a substation presence would benefit North Arlington in general. </p><p>Sincerely,</p><p>The Viridian Residents</p>
