<p>Dear Soham,</p><p>As we are all very aware of, certain tracts of land are earmarked to disappear under concrete and brick within Soham. For the sake of this town and its residents, both past and present and my own conscience, I must try my utmost to preserve it for all our sakes. I should like to begin the process of trying to save as many parts of our ancient and great town for the future, by beginning with petitions. I will be undertaking these and other measures as an individual and not under my position as a town councillor.</p><p>I know this will not be appreciated in certain quarters, but I must take a stand for what, I believe, the majority of this town wishes. We are constantly being advised that this deluge of building is progress, however, the extinction of Soham and its heritage through development is not progress.</p><p>Please sign this petition, to help save what is left of our Shade Common and the unique Medieval strip field along Northfield Road.
