Dear Lafayette Friends and Parents,

This is my heartfelt plea for your help in stopping a cell phone tower from being built on Van Sickle Rd. in Lafayette. It will be directly behind my house, directly behind our yard where our children, and your children, play each day.

My family and I moved here in July of 2015, after a much lengthy search for our forever home. We finally found the most beautiful community, beautiful home, beautiful neighbors, school, and yard for our three children to play in.

We did everything right, we even contacted the township to see if there were any applications for electric or cell phone towers prior to the purchase of our home. We did this because we did not want to live anywhere in the vicinity of one. We did this because of even the smallest possibilty of potential health effects they may cause. We did this for our children.

Of course, there was one that was denied by the Lafayette Township Board in 2013, and we were told there was nothing before the board. Now, just one and a half years later, we are faced with the cell phone tower going up right behind us.

This morning, there was a balloon test conducted to show the community where the tower would be constructed. A tiny, red balloon was sent up, and was in the air for all of 10-15 minutes, and then taken down. Up long enough if you were out there waiting for it. Not long enough for everyone to see what a detriment this would be, visually, and physically.

My children are my world. My whole world. As I am sure yours are too.

Yes, this will provide additional cell phone coverage. As stated at the previous meeting, for the 16,182 cars that travel down Route 15 each day.

Ask yourselves how many of those cars are residents of Lafayette?

Is it worth the health of your children?

Please join me in stopping this from happening. The next township meeting will be on November 17th at 7:30 pm.

Thank you,
Dana Gall
