Open Letter of Thanks to PB Michael Curry...

<p>We, the undersigned, write to express our deep gratitude for the prophetic leadership of Presiding Bishop Michael Curry and President of the House of Deputies Gay Jennings in responding to the actions of the January 2016 meeting of the Primates of the Anglican Communion.</p><p>We are members and friends of The Episcopal Church. We are people of faith&nbsp;who claim the promise of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. that "the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice." And we applaud the commitment of Bishop Curry and President Jennings to bending that arc toward justice and inclusion for every member of God's beloved human family.</p><p><br />By refusing to be blackmailed into bigotry by those insisting that the price for full inclusion in the Anglican Communion is the marginalization of LGBTQ people&nbsp;they&nbsp;have sent a powerful message that the lives and vocations of LGBTQ people will not be reduced to bargaining chips in a game of global Anglican politics. And their words and witness are a beacon of hope and healing that shines far beyond The Episcopal Church to those in our culture and in our Communion whose very lives are at risk because of who they are and who they love.</p><p>Along with Bishop Curry we claim "the high calling of love and faith; love even for those with whom we disagree" and in solidarity with President Jennings we claim the pledge "to&nbsp;make safe the road from Jericho to Jerusalem that is walked by everyone who strives for just and fair societies and full inclusion in the Body of Christ.&rdquo;&nbsp;</p>
