If you do not know what a food desert is it is defined by the USDA as "parts of the country vapid of fresh fruit, vegetables, and other healthful whole foods, usually found in impoverished areas. This is largely due to a lack of grocery stores, farmers’ markets, and healthy food providers". This can also apply to a community as well. You may think that people who would normally shop here can drive somewhere else; however, this is not the case. Lots of people in this area walk to the store because they can either not afford public transit or a car. <span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em><strong>Please sign this petition in a effort to show the Dillons company that this store is vital to keeping this community healthy and fed.</strong></em></span></p>
