We the undersigned property owners of Walton County Florida are opposed to the proposed customary

use ordinance pending before the Board of County Commissioners. We believe the ordinance violates

the inherent rights of private property owners under the law. We also believe this blanket ordinance

circumvents the long standing Florida Statute which requires the county to litigate on a parcel by parcel basis any individual property they believe to be subject to customary use.

This circumvention relieves the County of their burden of proof and denies the property owners their rights to defend their property on its individual merits.

In addition, this Notice of Public Hearing of the Proposed Customer Use Ordinance was sent on 10.6.16, and allegedly an ad was run on 10.13.16 and 10.20.16. It is our understanding this issue is on the agenda for 10.25.16. Given the nature of this of this issue and grave impact to all parties, we respectfully ask the Commissioners to vote against this proposed ordinance and uphold the rights of private property owners in Walton County. Or, at a minimum postpone your final decision until all parties have had sufficient time to state their position.
